The Red Terrors have had several months to contemplate the State Title game loss to Allatoona last season.

At this point Glynn Academy has moved on from the sting of losing that game and are focused on 2016 and getting back to Georgia Dome.

With that being said the Red Terrors did lose some key pieces from last year’s squad they will have to find a way to replace if that title run is going to happen.

Gone are RB Garrison Hurd, OL Kyle Larson, OL Frank Ferrell, S K’Shawn Walthour, SS Walter Thomas and DE Dexter Roberson just to name a few.

Glynn’s 2016 crew, however, will have some answers at certain positions. For instance, the loss of Garrison Hurd at running back will be felt for the Terrors but the blow will be lessened with Kendall Cross stepping in.

Cross was a key contributor down the stretch and especially in the playoffs last season. Even more encouraging is that Kendall Cross has bulked up in the off-season and looks to be a perfect fit for what the Terrors will need in the running game, which is a back to bruise the ball between the tackles and get short yardage with the ability to break big runs as well. Kendall Cross is that.

The losses at offensive line and in the secondary on defense will be on a ‘let’s wait and see’ approach, especially in the secondary.

Key contributors from last season that return this season on defense will be DE Devin Roberson, LB Hunter Hall, CB Caine Crews, LB Preston Joseph, CB Tre Sailem, and DE Tyler Cleghorne.

On offense the Terrors will be loaded with playmakers. Glynn will return the aforementioned Kendall Cross with QB DeeJay Dallas, WR Randon Jernigan, RB Jeremiah Anderson, and TE Andrew Delaney.

Add to the mix Brunswick High transfer Tyler Grant at running back and Glynn will be explosive on offense in that spread that Coach Rocky Hidalgo loves.

Glynn will be on the road the first month of the season, going to Benedictine, Ware, Camden and down to Orlando to take on Ponoma, who played for a state title in Colorado last season.

Glynn returns home against for the next month hosting East Jackson out of Atlanta, Wayne, Effingham, and Brunswick.

The Terrors then head to Richmond Hill and host Bradwell to finish the regular season.

The Red Terrors find themselves in a very soft region with only five teams. Those teams are Brunswick, Effingham, Bradwell and Richmond Hill.

It is very likely Glynn will win the region outright for the first time in over 50 years after being co-champs last season with Coffee.

Look for the Terrors to win the region and make no less than an Elite Eight appearance in the State Playoffs.
