Pirates Dynamic Duo

In comic books you have the dynamic duo Batman and Robin, in sports you had Jordan and Pippen, Shaq and Kobe, and the list goes on and on.
At Brunswick High you have the dynamic duo on the Pirate offensive line returning for their senior years John Cano and Ty Hinson.
This dynamic duo will be entering their third straight year together starting on the Pirate offensive line. Hinson played in a playoff game at Stockbridge as a freshman in 2014. Collectively this duo has a combined 41 varsity starts going into this fall.
BHS head coach Sean Pender has raved about the leadership qualities these two young men have. He says both have enthusiastically bought into the program and says both have stepped into leadership roles on the team. Pender calls Hinson the unquestioned leader of his football team.
Hinson going into his senior year has 21 varsity starts under his belt. Hinson who plays center for the Pirates is also a very accomplished long snapper. Pender says he is always first in line on drills, leads by example in the weight room, and the classroom.
Hinson sports a 3.4 GPA and made a 24 on the ACT. He is fully qualified and colleges are starting to take notice of this 6’1 275 pound team leader.
Hinson is a high character young man and will push for all region honors this fall in football. Ty’s dream school is Georgia Tech. Hinson fits the mold the Yellow Jackets look for in football players.
Hinson plays football with a chip on his shoulder which is exactly what Pender needs from his offensive lineman in the “Air Raid” offense.
Cano going into his senior year has 20 varsity starts at right guard for the Pirates. His head coach calls the 6’1 280 pound Cano a gutsy player with a motor that never stops.
Cano who is a very accomplished wrestler has earned all-region honors in wrestling and has qualified for state for the last two years.
This young man has a mean streak in him on the football field and on the wrestling mat.
Cano carries a 4.0 GPA yes that is not a typo and scored a 31 on the ACT. Cano flat out gets it done in the classroom and will be awarded academic scholarships to just about anywhere he chooses.
Cano’s dream school is Clemson. You hardly ever see Cano without Tiger gear on. Colleges are showing a lot of interest in Cano for his football abilities.
The good thing about this dynamic duo is that they are very good friends and hang out together outside of football. These two along with Warren McClendon Jr. form a very solid offensive line that could end of up being the best in the region. Pender’s offenses put up a lot of yards and points, but to do so you have to have the studs up front. Expect this duo to lead a Pirate offense into the playoffs this fall.
This dynamic duo also does a lot of community service work. Both go frequently to Altama Elementary School and read to the kids and help mentor young children.
In society, we always hear about all the negativity and bad stuff going on in the world, but you never hear much about the good things happening.
At BHS the dynamic duo of Cano and Hinson are the leaders of the offensive line, role models in the classroom, the community, and most importantly future leaders in our society.
Pirate Pride is more than just winning football games. This dynamic duo is going to win at the game of life.

Thank you so much for this great read. Ty and Cano are both amazing young men and have bright futures ahead of them. I have loved watching them play together for a long time and am hopeful that these Pirates and their brothers will have an amazingly successful year, the senior send off that these young men have worked hard to achieve. Go Pirates!
