The Glynn Academy Red Terrors are not as good as they were last year. That is the main statement heard from Non-Terror fans out of the gate this season after falling too AAA Benedictine.

That almost seems like a distant memory now. After the 24-7 loss the Cadets the Red Terrors have gotten the train back on the tracks.

Glynn traveled over to Waycross and beat the might Ware County Gators in the Swamp (Memorial Stadium). The win over Ware made it three in a row for Glynn over their rival. It is the first time in school history Glynn has beaten Ware three time in a row.

In fact, the Terrors had never even beaten Ware two in a row until last season. All-time Glynn Academy is 4-9 against the Gators. If you do the math that means Glynn had only beaten Ware once in the school’s history. The tables may have turned. It is at least enough to now consider it an actual rivalry.

The Red Terrors then had to a short week to get ready for Ponoma. Glynn traveled down to Disney in Orlando to take on Pomona on Thursday night. Glynn knew they would have their hands full as Pomona made the state title game in Colorado the season before and came in to Glynn game ranked third in the state.

The game was a pretty tight affair through the first half. Glynn led 19-14 at the half. That was as close as Pomona would get from the point on.

The Terrors physicality proved to be too much for Pomona and wore down late in the game as Glynn blew the game open.

When the clock read 0:00 the Red Terrors had themselves a 33-14 win and a winning record of 2-1.

The Terrors will take to the road to play rival Camden next week. That game will be the fourth game in a row Glynn has been on the road. Glynn Academy has yet to see the friendly confines of Glynn County Stadium this season.

Like Ware, the Red Terrors have not had much success with Camden in recent history. Also, like Ware, Glynn hopes to change that.

The Wildcats are vulnerable. Camden is 0-2 on the season with losses to Oak Leaf and Venice. A 27-14 loss to Oak Leaf and an embarrassing loss to Venice, 46-17. Not typical of what we have seen from Camden in the past.

A lot on the line down in Kingsland next week. A chance for Glynn Academy to get through the toughest part of their schedule 3-1. And a must win for Camden to avoid going 0-3 on the season since pre-Jeff Herron.
