Glynn to Terrorize State

The Glynn Academy Red Terrors are now 4-1 halfway through the season, and after the early loss to Benedictine they are starting to look like state title contenders.
Over the past month, the Terrors have taken on Pomona (#1 Team in Colorado), Camden County, and East Jackson. They won all of those games and won them all very convincingly.
The first game of the month took place in Orlando, Florida at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex against the Pomona Panthers (Arvada, Co.) on a rainy Thursday night.
The Terrors defense made a statement to start the game with a pick-six and finished with a total of three interceptions against a very good quarterback.
Deejay Dallas and Kendall Cross put on a show in front of Miami media and fans and the Terror Faithful who travelled well. One player alone, Max Borghi, scored both of the Panther’s Touchdowns, but one player would not be enough to get it done as the Terrors dominated in every facet and won 33-14.
After the game, the Terrors enjoyed a day at Universal Studios in Orlando and then traveled back home to prepare for Camden County.
The Camden County Wildcats have been a historically great program, but this year they have been struggling in ways we have not seen this team struggle.
In the Wildcats home opener, they found out it’s not easy to stop this new option offense as Randon Jernigan, Deejay Dallas, Tyler Grant, and Kendall Cross all had great nights. Glynn, as a team, actually rushed for 395 yards and the defense only gave up a touchdown in the 4th with a running clock in the 56-7 victory.
This was the first time Glynn had beaten Camden since 1985. This also became Camden’s first 0-3 start since 1969.
After the first four games, the Terrors finally got to play a home game. On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, Glynn took on the East Jackson Eagles.
This was a rest game for many players with bumps, bruises, and sprains. The game was still an exciting one as Tre Sailem took the opening kickoff all the way back for a touchdown.
The starting offense got a rest in the second quarter after being up 20-7. When the second team offense came out, we got to see Randon Jernigan under center with Tyler Grant as his tailback. That is going to be a scary combination to watch for the next two years.
The Terrors went into the half up 34-7 and played lots of backups in the second half. The Terrors won this one 34-14 after having a running clock in place the entire second half. Randon Jernigan and Tyler Grant combined for another impressive game
This Glynn Academy Red Terrors team has improved every single week and truly looks to be a scary force in 6A football. This team is proving to be not only talented but also very deep.
This year’s team actually has a shot at being better than last year’s state runner-up team. The new option offense has cleaned up the mistakes and is looking better and better. The defense has played their hearts out all season.
They still have a game against Wayne County and then a tough region schedule left, but this team looks like it could compete with the best of them.
