Is Matt Ryan Answer For Falcons?
TheSouthernSportsEdition.com news services
Sometimes it doesn’t take too much thought to decide whether or not a quarterback has lived up to his draft position.
For the most part, 1st round quarterbacks fall into one of two categories. You have what we’ll refer to as the “Gigli Division” consisting of guys whose NFL careers were about as successful as the aforementioned Ben Affleck movie.
The Tebow Bus

Tim Tebow announcing his intent to play Major League Baseball seemed like a joke at first. Then actual Major League Baseball teams went along with it. Almost all of them showed up to watch him display his talents.
Then one actually signed him. Tim Tebow is now a professional baseball player. It still seems like kind of a joke.

Coming off of an “unscheduled bye week” compliments of Hurricane Hermine, the Frederica Knights found themselves undefeated, well-rested, and injury free going into week 5 of their 2016 campaign.
“We’re at 100% right now” said Head Coach Brandon Derrick earlier in the week. The Knights needed to be at 100% for this week’s opponent; defending GISA state champions Valwood High.
Glynn Dismantles Camden

I never thought I would see the day when a visiting team would head to Chris Gilman Stadium in Kingsland, the home of the Camden County Wildcats, and bring more fans than there were in the home stands.
That was the case Friday night when Glynn Academy took the trip and the sea of red filled the visitors section, while on the home side you could not help but notice all the empty seats.

Wreck for Tech?
TheSouthernSportsEdition.com news services
The first college football Saturday is in the books. A lot of questions have been answered now that games have been played but some new ones have been presented. In the case of Georgia Tech I have to wonder are they in trouble?
The Yellow Jackets played Boston College in Dublin, Ireland. Both teams were terrible last season finishing with identical 3-9 records. The Eagles were winless in ACC play and Tech only won one conference game.
SEC Slow Start
TheSouthernSportsEdition.com news services
Well, I’m pretty sure that isn’t how the SEC was hoping the first weekend would go.
It wasn’t horrible or anything, but it couldn’t have gone as scripted. In their defense, one of the major reasons everyone was so excited about the match ups to start the college season was that most SEC teams scheduled legit opponents, not schools from the Underwater Basket Weaving conference.
Considering all the hoopla and questions coming into this weekend the one thing I basically learned is that the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Back To Terror Football

The Glynn Academy Red Terrors are not as good as they were last year. That is the main statement heard from Non-Terror fans out of the gate this season after falling too AAA Benedictine.
That almost seems like a distant memory now. After the 24-7 loss the Cadets the Red Terrors have gotten the train back on the tracks.
